Gay Mormon Movie Nite

10/27/08

Dear Everyone,

After a continuous run of over 10 years, our weekly Gay Mormon Movie Nite
has now come to an end. For the last few months, we have rarely had more
than 5 or 6 people show up (including me), and now -- for the first time --
no one but me showed up for 2 weeks in a row. I take this as a sign that we
don't need an organized weekly movie outing anymore, so I'm bringing this
activity to an end.

I'll still personally be going to our favorite theater in Sugarhouse on a
regular basis, if not every week, as I love movies and I'm poor. :o) And if
you ever want to go to a movie, but (like me) you'd rather go with friends
than by yourself, you're welcome to contact me and see if I want to come,
too -- preferably by phone (801-860-6497) since I don't always check my
e-mail (rick@bickmore.net) every day.

I'll miss seeing the few regulars who still came frequenly, but hopefully
I'll see ya'll around other places.

With many fond memories,

Rick Bickmore
Movie Nite Coordinator for the last 9 years or so

About Gay Mormon Movie Nite

Gay Mormon Movie Nite was started in 1997 or 1998 (not sure which) by a couple of college students in the LDS Reconciliation group, and also became an official activity of the local chapter of Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormons shortly thereafter. For most of its 10+ years, it was every Wednesday night, at Sugarhouse Movies 10, 2227 S Highland Dr (about 1100 E) in Salt Lake, where admission is only $1.50. Each week, the people who went voted on the movie to be seen the following week. This organized activity has served its purpose, and has now come to an end.

If you want a friend to go to a movie with you, feel free to call Rick Bickmore at 801-860-6497, or send e-mail to:
